The arrival of August kicks off Black Philanthropy Month (BPM), a multimedia campaign to inform, involve, inspire and invest in Black philanthropic leadership and strengthen African-descent giving in all forms, established by Dr. Jackie Copeland-Carson in 2011. Join us all month long as we share member testimonials about Black Philanthropy, the importance of diversifying leadership, the benefit of giving and more!
This hands-on workshop introduces the topic youth philanthropy (0-18 years) and the concept that youth have the ability to share their time, talents, and treasures for the common good. Jill Gordon, Program Director of the Youth Philanthropy Initiative of Indiana will explore current youth philanthropy research and resources while sharing examples of successful program activities, grantmaking efforts, and fundraising initiatives.

Join Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Education Funders and Prenatal to Five Affinity Groups to learn about "mixed delivery systems" of care that connect across multiple programs, providers, and settings (including public schools and community-based organizations) that can be supported with a combination of public funds and private funds. Our speakers will share possible avenues for a system of mixed delivery in Baltimore and across Maryland along with potential next steps. Space will be created for dialogue between funders about steps you can take together around early care and education.
