Collaboratives & Initiatives
Maryland Philanthropy Network has a long history of supporting and hosting initiatives and collaboratives -- this is one of the most powerful ways we realize our mission and strategic goal of leading, with and for our members, efforts to influence critical issues, improve community conditions and strive for transformative change. Member shared interests and goals fuel our role as a host supporting innovation and impact; and as an association advancing philanthropy and collaboration with key partners and stakeholders across the state.

Baltimore Regional Anchor Collaborative
The Baltimore Regional Anchor Collaborative is coming together for the primary purposes of peer exchange, shared learning and increased collaboration with a focus on building healthier communities and supporting economic growth in the Baltimore region. Rooted in Baltimore and Baltimore County, participating anchors in the educational and healthcare sectors have an enormous impact on the region as key employers, providers of essential health care and educational services, purchasers of local goods and services, developers of infrastructure and image makers for our region. This group builds off of the former Baltimore Integration Partnership (BIP). From 2010 – 2019, the BIP was focused on economic inclusion, particularly through contracting, procurement and hiring. The publication “Collectively We Rise: The Business Case for Economic Inclusion” provides an overview of the BIP and presents case studies that demonstrate how economic inclusion makes sense for individuals businesses, and institutions, and for the Baltimore region as a whole.
