Maryland Philanthropy Network has partnered with Maryland Nonprofits to host a Legislative Briefing for many years. This is your opportunity to learn what other funders will be working on, policy issues affecting nonprofits, how the legislature will function, and the state budget. Join MPN this year for a funders-only breakout session around opportunities with the new administration and to share key policy priorities related to the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors. This peer-to-peer discussion will be led by Erica Joseph, President of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, and Nikki Highsmith Vernick, President and CEO of the Horizon Foundation. Click here for the agenda.

Whether your organization is new to advocacy or a long-time advocacy leader in the sector, this must-attend event will help you navigate the 2023 legislative session. A new governor, new cabinet secretaries, a huge state budget surplus, and new legislative power to make changes to the budget are promising a legislative session filled with opportunities for nonprofits and equitable public policy.

Why "days of miracles and wonder?"  The Maryland State Budget is projecting about $6 billion in Maryland budget surpluses over the next few years. Don't miss out on these opportunities.

COST

The cost for the event per person is $49. For a single organization, you may register everyone in your group for $89. No code is needed.

For tracking purposes for our “funders only roundtable,” please designate that you are a “Maryland Philanthropy Network Member” on the form when registering.
