The philanthropic sector is an ecosystem: a web of interdependent actors, infinitely variable, striving constantly to build something greater than the sum of its parts. Philanthropy is also getting organized and reorganized. A survey asked thousands of Baltimoreans about their priorities for the city. Here’s what they said.

Last fall, city residents themselves got the chance to weigh in. More than 5,000 filled out a survey designed to capture their top priorities ahead of the 2020 mayoral and City Council races.
Realizing the purchasing power of anchor institutions to support local businesses and in turn create jobs is the focus of this new report, Authored by Karp Resources, the report explores food procurement processes in anchor institutions, and identifies a range of strategies to more fully realize local purchasing power. Join Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Education Funders and Prenatal to Five Affinity Groups to learn about "mixed delivery systems" of care that connect across multiple programs, providers, and settings (including public schools and community-based organizations) that can be supported with a combination of public funds and private funds. Our speakers will share possible avenues for a system of mixed delivery in Baltimore and across Maryland along with potential next steps.
