The Columbia Association (CA) and the Community Foundation of Howard County (CFHoCo) are proud to announce a new partnership to support the Howard County community through a significant grant initiative. This collaboration underscores the commitment of both organizations to promoting social welfare and addressing the needs of residents. Under the terms of the agreement, CA will provide CFHoCo with a grant of $125,000 to be distributed during the Community Foundation’s open Community Grants Program this year.

Through a presentation and discussion with Stuart Clarke, Edgar Villanueva will outline his provocative analysis of the dysfunctional colonial dynamics at play in philanthropy and finance and offer a prescription for restoring balance and healing our divides.
The Open Society Foundations will provide $1 million in direct financial and other emergency support for workers in Baltimore who have been hit hard by COVID-19 and are at greatest risk of falling into extreme hardship, including those who are unemployed and the formerly incarcerated.
The National Fund for Workforce Solutions knows the most effective solutions start with the people closest to the work. The Baltimore Workforce Funders Collaborative (BWFC) at Maryland Philanthropy Network is a powerful example of what’s possible when workforce solutions are rooted in community. During a recent visit, BWFC hosted the National Fund's Board of Directors and staff team for a day that showcased their deep relationships and bold worker-centered approach. From listening and learning to seeing workforce programs in action, it was clear how important deep community relationships are to the success of BWFC’s efforts to reshape the future of work in Baltimore.
