The child care and preschool system is vital to the stability of the labor force and economy, and yet the entire system is balanced on the passion of women who work in child care because they delight in children and clearly understand they are contributing to the future - but experience employment in the sector as underappreciated and unsustainable. Through this program, we will share eye-opening learnings gleaned from an innovative model that connects the voices and perspectives of Baltimore child care professionals and caregivers with systems representatives who hold positional power.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the individuals and families impacted by the June 12 mass shooting in Orlando. In the early morning hours of June 12, a gunman opened fire at a gay nightclub in Orlando, leaving 49 people dead and more than 50 injured. Our hearts are with Florida, the LGBTQ community and the many families and friends now striving to come to terms with this senseless act of terror and tragic loss of innocent lives.
