A New Model for Principal Development

A New Model for Principal Development

Tuesday, January 16, 2018, 12:00 - 1:30 PM

What happens when three turn-around schools, armed with a new staff that includes an experienced principal and engaged teachers, become part of a collaborative, coached by successful former turn-around school leader? School leaders and educators at Harford Heights Elementary, James McHenry Elementary/Middle and Mary E. Rodman Elementary schools receive hands-on support and coaching related to planning, implementation of best practices and effective school structures, and professional development from staff members of the Commodore John Rodgers Elementary/Middle School staff members. The cohort, named The 100% Project, is an effort supported by Baltimore City Schools and the Maryland State Department of Education. By 2021, with funding support from the School Improvement Grant, the three schools should be back on track.

Come hear directly from the school leaders to learn about year 1 of the cohort. Marc Martin, principal at Commodore John Rodgers Elementary/Middle; Chris Turk, principal at James McHenry Elementary/Middle; and Dave Guzman, Principal at Mary E. Rodman Elementary School will join us to share their experiences, goals, successes and challenges faced in year one of the cohort.

This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members only. Lunch will be served.
