Kondwani Fidel, Baltimore native and globally recognized poet, will once again share his thought-provoking poetry with us, recognizing that arts and creativity have an indelible role in moving people to action for lasting social change.

On January 31st, participants uttered these phrases in frustration and despair during United Way of Central Maryland’s Walk a Mile Experience (WAM), a poverty simulation, which the Maryland Philanthropy Network (Maryland Philanthropy Network) co-hosted with the Baltimore Women’s Giving Circle and the Jewish Women’s Giving Foundation, a project of The ASSOCIATED.
This new report highlights ongoing initiatives to create jobs through economic inclusion in Baltimore. Through interviews, it documents best practices and finds that the strategies create benefits for individuals, businesses and institutions. The report calls for broader participation by businesses and institutions as well as people-focused investments and policies.
