Katie Lautar, Executive Director of Baltimore Green Space will share how they are working at the intersection of community care of green spaces, advocacy, and scientific research that promotes the health of communities and equitable access to sustainable green spaces.
All arts and culture funders are invited to hear Nicholas Cohen, Executive Director, Maryland Citizens for the Arts, share findings from their research and to join in a discussion about the implications of these findings as well shifts in funding and support for the arts throughout Maryland and in Baltimore specifically. We’ll provide ample time for all participants to deepen collaboration by sharing information, current opportunities, lessons learned and queries about supporting the arts in Maryland.

Amy and Anne Allen, a Program Officer with the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, will talk about their experience and lessons learned from an on-going partnership between the two organizations to support nonprofit technology. Following their examples, we’ll discussion options for what philanthropy can do to support this aspect of nonprofit organizational health.

This is the second session of a 6-part webinar series on Demystifying Trust-Based Philanthropy focused on addressing common questions, clarifying misconceptions, and exploring ways to overcome obstacles in implementing trust-based philanthropy. In this session, we’ll unpack the difference between unrestricted funding that is deployed in a trust-based way, and what it looks like when it’s not. We’ll also share case studies from funders who have shifted from project-specific to majority unrestricted funding, as well as those who have embedded trust-based values within semi-restricted grants.
