For Grantseekers: Budgeting 101

For Grantseekers: Budgeting 101

Friday, June 15, 2018, 8:00 - 11:30 AM

Presented by a foundation program officer who reviews hundreds of proposals each year and a nonprofit expert with decades of finance experience, the Maryland Philanthropy Network invites new and experienced grant proposal writers to a workshop on nonprofit budgeting. The presentation will describe approaches to developing a budget, tips on how to present your budgets to funders, the nuts and bolts of what funders are looking for in your budget, and how to tell the story of your work through the numbers.

Presented by Lara Hall, Senior Program Officer, Blaustein Philanthropic Group and Nancy Hall, President of 501c3 Solutions.

A grantmaker for almost two decades, Lara is also an experienced educator on grant writing. In addition to many presentations, she has lectured on philanthropy and grant writing at Notre Dame University.

President of 501c3 Solutions, Nancy takes the best practices of high performing corporations and adapts them for use in the nonprofit sector. She is able to make complex business concepts easily understood by the artists, social workers, and advocates that often head up nonprofit organizations. She is an expert in the legal structure of nonprofits and has assisted in the start-up of hundreds of organizations, merged many partners, and helped to close down organizations
