Join Maryland Philanthropy Network's Prenatal-to-Five Affinity Group and Tracy Harris, Program Director of the Baltimore City Child Care Resource Center (BCCCRC) to learn how CCR&R centers support diverse child care options for families and provide essential professional and business development for child care providers. The conversation will explore the ways BCCCRC contributes to the implementation of Pillar 1 of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future and learn about the gaps that are ahead as ARPA funding concludes.

All grantmakers are invited to participate in this four-part professional development series taught by our region's experienced practitioners, presented by Maryland Philanthropy Network. Session Three will cover understanding nonprofit financial statements with Jennifer Pedroni, Director at BDO FMA. Participants will learn how to read and understand budgets and financial statements to assess the health of an organization. They will also learn what questions to ask and understand how to interpret the numbers based on a nonprofit organization's age, mission, or funding streams.

Recently, I had the opportunity to participate in a thought-provoking, poignant and powerfully packaged event hosted by the Maryland Philanthropy Network for Baltimore Area Grantmakers (Maryland Philanthropy Network). This event included a discussion by Kevin Shird and Nelson Malden, authors of the recently published book The Colored Waiting Room: Empowering the Original and the New Civil Movements followed by a panel discussion on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
