Four local philanthropies have announced new emergency funds and actions to support community members affected by COVID-19.
Washington, DC - Mary’s Center announced today a partnership with five foundations to establish and administer the D.C.
The Baltimore Community Foundation (BCF) announced $1 million in grants to 20 nonprofits providing programs or services that directly support the resiliency of majority-Black communities in targeted neighborhoods of West and Northwest Baltimore.
In 2021, Maryland passed legislation that set up the Growing Opportunities in Family Child Care (GOFCC) program to provide targeted support for individuals to open a registered (licensed) family child care program. During this meeting, Laura Weeldreyer and Lacey Egerton from Maryland Family Network will present details about GOFCC, an implementation grant process, and how the initiative contributes an important solution to help address the child care crisis.
Ten Baltimore organizations each received $25,000 to continue their work supporting Black residents in the Baltimore area.
