The Daily Record has announced the honorees of its 2018 Maryland’s Top 100 Women awards.
Fourteen women will be inducted into the Circle of Excellence, receiving the award for a third and final time.
On February 27, 2010 an 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck Chile early Saturday morning, killing more than 700 people and leaving 2 million people displaced. The earthquake also toppled buildings, snapped power lines, damaged roads and bridges, and cut off communications. The most significant damage appears to be in and around Concepción, the country's second largest city.

Katie Lautar, Executive Director of Baltimore Green Space will share how they are working at the intersection of community care of green spaces, advocacy, and scientific research that promotes the health of communities and equitable access to sustainable green spaces.

Casey Foundation, and Youth Advisors Cesia Calero and J’Naya Harris to hear about and discuss the Youth and Young Adult Grantmaking Initiative, a new participatory and collaborative funding opportunity. This youth-led grantmaking structure enables young people to allocate resources that directly impact themselves and their peers. It also incorporates capacity building, coaching, technical assistance, and compensation for Youth Grantmakers.

Join Maryland Philanthropy Network as we discuss technology trends for the nonprofit sector with Amy Sample Ward, Executive Director of NTEN, a nonprofit capacity building organization that has been building the technology leadership and confidence of nonprofit staff for 24 years. Amy and Anne Allen, a Program Officer with the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, will talk about their experience and lessons learned from an on-going partnership between the two organizations to support nonprofit technology. Following their examples, we’ll discussion options for what philanthropy can do to support this aspect of nonprofit organizational health.
