Join Maryland Philanthropy Network's Prenatal to Five Funders Affinity Group for a 3-part virtual learning series highlighting the biological, social, and systemic foundations of Early Relational Health. This will be an opportunity to engage with national and local experts, connect with fellow leaders, learn from inspiring real-world examples, and explore how fostering strong, nurturing relationships can transform the lives of infants, toddlers, and their families – laying a solid foundation for success in school, work and life.
As our network continues to explore how our individual and collective support can fit together to yield the greatest impact, we invite members to join us and keynote speaker Rev. Dr. Starsky Wilson, President and CEO of the Children’s Defense Fund, for Maryland Philanthropy Network's 2024 Annual Gathering, "Inspiring Bold Philanthropy for Maryland’s Youth and Families."

Much of the funding that we do as grantmakers is based on the knowledge and expertise of the adults who educate our children, yet little is known about what students experience on a day-to-day basis.
Please join Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Workforce Affinity Group to hear outcomes from the 2023 Maryland state legislative session. This will include a discussion around specific bills related to Maryland’s workforce and quality jobs, the public safety net, financial education, asset building, and consumer protections. Our speakers will share information and insights about bills that passed as well as those that did not quite make it this year. We will be joined by representatives from the CASH Campaign of Maryland, Public Justice Center, Economic Action Maryland, and the Job Opportunities Task Force.
This peer group supports a broad range of programming and convening to explore education investment opportunities, educational research findings, best practices, and advocates for related public policy.
This is the first session of a 6-part webinar series on trust-based philanthropy focused on addressing common questions, clarifying misconceptions, and exploring ways to overcome obstacles in implementing trust-based philanthropy. In this session, we will clarify the misperception that trust-based philanthropy means unconditional trust and dig into the nuances of why trust is an important vehicle for more equitable funder-grantee relationships. Speakers will share how they have cultivated (and maintained) trust, how they model and reinforce mutual accountability in a trust-based way, and how they have worked through challenging moments when trust breaks down.
At this Maryland Philanthropy Network program, we will hear about the Sustainable Workforce Model from Laura Roberts of the Rockefeller Foundation and Liddy Romero of the Denver-based WorkLife Partnership.

The oil spill disaster in the Gulf Coast is one of the most significant threats to the environment our country has faced in decades. It has the potential to devastate fragile coastal communities and ecosystems beyond repair, easily making it far worse than the Exxon Valdez disaster of 1989.
