Join the Education Funders and Workforce Development Affinity Groups for an update on Career and Technical Education (CTE) in Baltimore. We are pleased to once again host Dr. Rachel Pfeifer, Executive Director of College and Career Readiness of Baltimore City Schools, and Kumasi Vines, Director of Career Readiness, who will share how CTE instruction has shifted during the pandemic and to share the vision and draft 4-year plan for moving forward.

The 2019 Maryland General Assembly begins Wednesday, January 9, 2019! Some are calling the upcoming session "The Education Session!" In the coming weeks, the Commission on Innovation and Excellence in Education (aka Kirwan Commission) will release its final report and legislation will follow shortly thereafter. Join us for an Education Funders and Public Policy Committee Advocacy Action Discussion for 2019. During the discussion, we will share known updates for the Kirwan Commission and legislation as well as determine possible advocacy actions for grantmakers, both collectively or individually.

In recent years, Baltimore City Schools has considerably expanded its choice offerings, including the creation of many new charter and transformation schools.
Join other education funders for a peer-to-peer exchange that will focus on grantmaking for summer learning. We encourage you to bring your burning questions, strategic ponderings, or interesting projects to raise with the group.
