Maryland residents’ enrollment in federal food assistance programs has increased sharply since the COVID-19 pandemic started in March, according to a report that Maryland Hunger Solutions released Wednesday.

Join us to hear about ALICE in Maryland, the findings from these reports, and discuss the implications in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and its devastating economic impact on our residents.
At this program, panelists will describe how the cases of unaccompanied children and vulnerable immigrant adults are being handled by the legal services community, as well as the efforts taken to address their mental health and other basic needs. They will also discuss the Multi-Ethnic Domestic Violence Project (MEDOVI), which creates an avenue for victims who are immigrants and their children to get legal status; and how Maryland’s legal community is gearing up to serve even more immigrants.

The Baltimore Children and Youth Fund (BCYF) awarded CLLCTIVLY and Maryland Nonprofits $150,000 to pilot the CONNECT program. CONNECT is a nine-month cohort of ten organizations focused on deepening relationships and collaboration among nonprofits to improve organizational sustainability, increase fundraising, and move towards a liberatory framework for serving young people in Baltimore City.

The keynote speaker will be Bradley Schurman, author of Super Age: Decoding the Demographic Destiny.
