During Baltimore City Comptroller Bill Henry’s first few months in office, the policy and process challenges faced by nonprofits and fiscal partners doing business with the City are readily apparent and numerous. You are invited to join Celeste Amato, Chief of Staff of the Baltimore City Comptroller, for a conversation intended to build out the initial list of issues that the Comptroller’s office has identified as needing attention and to discuss the formation of a stakeholder group to continue engaging with the Comptroller’s office around issues, improvements, and to outline what a more ideal partnership could look like between local government and the nonprofit and fiscal partners.

Rising 6th grade and 9th grade students in Baltimore City have the opportunity to apply to the middle and high schools of their choice. As a result of the pandemic and the movement toward a more equitable process, the school choice process this year has been adjusted. Join Maryland Philanthropy Network and our speakers Brandon Tilghman and Dominick Bivens from Baltimore City Public Schools who will walk us through the school choice process, highlighting recent changes and sharing plans for continued improvement.

This September, the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) welcomes only its second director in its 30+-year history with the appointment of Jenenne Whitfield by the Board of Directors to succeed Founder, Director and Primary Curator Rebecca Alban Hoffberger. Join the Arts Funders Affinity Group for a conversation with Ms. Whitfield to learn about her vision for AVAM, the current state of the museum, and other pertinent issues. Funders of arts and culture will have the opportunity to build relationships with one another and share their interests as well.
