The arts in Maryland provide countless opportunities for learning, cultural enrichment, and community impact. Major cultural institutions and burgeoning small and mid-sized cultural institutions are working to be relevant and attractive to diverse audiences, while oftentimes vying for the same limited resources.
The one and a half hour walking tour will start at Dovecote Café and will highlight past, present and future NDC projects and partners located within the Reservoir Hill neighborhood from the past 50 years. Maryland Philanthropy Network Members are encouraged to assemble at Dovecote promptly at 11, where Jennifer Goold, Executive Director of NDC will give a preview talk with coffee before we set off on foot.

As a result of years of collaboration with community partners throughout the city of Baltimore, dozens of data points collected through assessments and surveys, and deep analysis by trusted partners, the State of the Baltimore Nonprofit Sector Report consists of 10 core insights connected to the health and effectiveness of nonprofit organizations.

Join Maryland Philanthropy Network's Education Funders Affinity Group for a conversation with the new Maryland State Superintendent Mohammed Choudhury. This will be a great opportunity to learn Mr. Choudhury’s goals for the Maryland State Department of Education, anticipated needs for the upcoming school year, along with an opportunity to explore the role of philanthropy in supporting public education in our state.
Donors are joining hands at a pace we have never seen before — a trend that seems poised to continue to unlock billions more dollars in the coming years. Prompted in large part by the desire by many donors and grant makers to find more effective ways to advance equity in the United States and around the world, these collaboratives could show the way to unlocking greater giving to support social justice. And they could lead to a shift in how philanthropic dollars are distributed — most of these collaboratives are led by people of color and others who have direct experience navigating an unequal world.
