We've got good news, Baltimore.
After almost 65 years of making grants in the Baltimore area and elsewhere the Alvin and Fanny B. Thalheimer Foundation will spend down its remaining funds.
Local purchasing strategies to support area businesses can generate much needed jobs for Baltimore. However collective action is also needed to be successful as well as an enabling environment to intentionally leverage anchor institution purchasing to build opportunities for area businesses and residents.
There is ample data that makes the case for the value of diversity in corporate, education, private and public sector leadership.
