Group discussions are often cross-sectoral, examining the impact of environmental issues on community development, human health, or economic welfare. Participating members come from a wide range of grant-making backgrounds and diverse areas of expertise.
How should philanthropy support young people in this perilous time in U.S. history? The confluence of a global pandemic, an economic crisis, and a nationwide call for racial justice will fundamentally alter the lives of all American learners.

Giving circle leaders are invited to the twelfth annual Giving Circle Connector Gathering. The dozens of giving circles in our region will gather virtually to connect and learn from one another about a variety of issues important to giving circles. The report goes beyond big-picture dollar figures to point out key imbalances within philanthropy, most notably the minuscule amount of support and action to advance social justice for people with disabilities across the spectrum of funding.

Lightly structured, these peer-to-peer exchange events are designed to integrate and learn from others in philanthropy through facilitation of the following: strategy sharing and exchange of ideas around what other funders are working on, stimulating new ways of thinking by sharing learnings and creating an environment conducive to discovery among the community of funders, and relationship building.
