These are difficult times for many in our community. Unemployment remains high, paychecks don’t go very far, and every day it seems another public service is being curtailed in the interest of budget cuts.
Please join us for the 2020 Community Foundation Peer Retreat to build and strengthen relationships across Maryland's community foundations! Together, as the Maryland Community Foundations Association (MCFA), we speak with one voice in promoting philanthropy to benefit towns, cities and rural areas across the state. Community Foundations specialize in helping individuals, families and businesses plan and carry out their charitable giving; and in building endowments to serve their regions' changing needs.
Each year brings new opportunities for the Baltimore Community Foundation (BCF) to grow its presence and increase its positive impact in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. In 2023, after a period of significant growth at the foundation and after the intensity of the first couple of years of the COVID-19 pandemic had passed, the foundation turned its focus inward to develop and launch Inspire, its new strategic plan.
Join Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Health Funders Affinity Group and presenters Shannon Hall, J.D., Executive Director of the Community Behavioral Health Association (CBH), and Brett Beckerson, MSW, Senior Director, Public Policy and Advocacy National Council of Mental Wellbeing, to share their efforts to bring high-quality, integrated mental health and substance use care to Maryland residents through Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC). Learn about the complexities of an organization becoming a CCBHC and how philanthropy can assist them in the process.
This year Maryland Philanthropy Network is reuniting for our first in-person meeting since 2019 to celebrate our 40th Anniversary! MPN members are invited to join us for a morning of reconnection, celebration, and updates on the vibrant activities of our network. We are excited to have Susan Taylor Batten, president and chief executive officer of ABFE: A Philanthropic Partnership for Black Communities, as our keynote speaker to inspire and challenge us as we continue working together for an equitable and just Maryland.
Communities are central to this development, but The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation recognizes that they often lack the necessary resources and capacity to implement these projects independently.
