Foundations on the Hill (FOTH) is a multi-day event that brings together foundation leaders, grantmakers, and regional associations from across the country to DC for meetings with Congress about key issues of importance to foundations and philanthropy. Casey Foundation, and Youth Advisors Cesia Calero and J’Naya Harris to hear about and discuss the Youth and Young Adult Grantmaking Initiative, a new participatory and collaborative funding opportunity. This youth-led grantmaking structure enables young people to allocate resources that directly impact themselves and their peers. It also incorporates capacity building, coaching, technical assistance, and compensation for Youth Grantmakers.

“Foundation Giving for Disability: Priorities and Trends”, a rigorous new study commissioned by the Disability & Philanthropy Forum, is the first study of its kind to map philanthropic giving for disability causes. The report goes beyond big-picture dollar figures to point out key imbalances within philanthropy, most notably the minuscule amount of support and action to advance social justice for people with disabilities across the spectrum of funding.
