Join Maryland Philanthropy Network for a peer learning exchange for arts and culture funders! In the past year we’ve learned about the Financial Impact of COVID on the Arts in Maryland, Supporting Leaders of Color in the Arts and Creative Economy in Maryland, and Arts Grantmakers’ Changes in Practice and Sharing Session. This peer group is focused on best practices and emerging opportunities in the field of health, including the social determinants of health and behavioral health. Group meetings provide opportunities for funders to learn about key issues including government policy impacts, share grantmaking priorities, explore shared interests with other stakeholders including policymakers/public agency staff, and engage in aligned or collaborative grantmaking.

Maryland Family Network has two representatives on a nine-member leadership committee, drawn from the Governor-appointed Maryland Early Care and Education Advisory Council, that is providing guidance to MSDE staff on the design and development of Maryland’s proposal.
I recently attended a Living Cities Integration Initiative site visit to the Twin Cities for some cross-site learning, and saw how affective their collective impact approach is. Through the Corridors of Opportunity initiative, they are working to build and develop a world-class regional transit system focused on seven transit corridors at various stages of operation, construction and planning.
