Businesses large and small will be critical partners as the world continues to heal from the global pandemic and its economic impacts. The field of corporate philanthropy will shift and adapt to make the most of limited resources of human and financial capital to help communities in their back yard and beyond. Maureen Flynn from Changing Our World - a consulting company dedicated to helping the private sector act as a force for public good - will moderate a discussion with Mateus Baptista, Deputy Director at Panasonic, and Michele Mehaffy, Consumer Affairs Manager at Wegmans, about how this work continues to evolve to meet community need.
In October of 2019, Maryland Philanthropy Network hosted an engaging conversation about supporting an Innovative and Inclusive Arts Community. Building on that conversation and contemplating the challenges the pandemic brought on the arts community, join Maryland Philanthropy Network's Arts Funders Affinity Group to revisit and deepen your understanding of what’s happening to support leaders of color in the arts and creative economy in Maryland.

It could not be clearer in those moments how firmly engrained white supremacy is in all the structures of our nation. The response from law enforcement at the Capitol was unrecognizable from the over-policing that occurs in many of the communities we serve and represent. The upswell of white supremacists came from across our country and from nearly every community. We at Maryland Philanthropy Network stand with our colleagues and leaders across the country in calling for change. Our communities and our future depend on it.
With Washington County schools just about out for summer break and the annual summer brain drain on the horizon, the Community Book Warehouse is opening just in time.
