Please join Maryland Philanthropy Network's Baltimore Seniors and Housing Collaborative, in partnership with the Community Development Network of Maryland and Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition, to learn about coordinated, equity-focused policy responses to maintain housing security for seniors. Presentations will new research on reverse mortgage patterns among senior homeowners in Baltimore City, recent national research on the lack of sufficient affordable housing available to a growing share of senior renters, and plans for the launch of federal stimulus aid to prevent mortgage foreclosures in Baltimore City and the State of Maryland.

The day will begin with an excursion through a portion of the Underground Railroad, including a tour of the Harriet Tubman Museum. Participants will then enjoy lunch and an engaging conversation with local voices to talk about shared goals around both the racial and economic challenges facing rural Maryland and how philanthropy might respond.

The Maryland Environmental Health Network takes action to protect human health by addressing environmental policies and practices that shape the conditions for health in Maryland.
On February 27, 2010 an 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck Chile early Saturday morning, killing more than 700 people and leaving 2 million people displaced. The earthquake also toppled buildings, snapped power lines, damaged roads and bridges, and cut off communications. The most significant damage appears to be in and around Concepción, the country's second largest city.
