This is the annual meeting of Maryland Philanthropy Network leaders (staff, chairs, and steering committee members) of affinity groups and roundtables. At this meeting, we will discuss affinity group planning and collaboration.

For more than 12 years, Maryland Philanthropy Network has led a learning agenda around racial equity for our members. Part peer-exchange, part workshop, this program is designed for members to learn from several colleague organizations about their racial equity journeys, reflect on where your organization is in its journey, and unearth insights to take into your own work. The peer exchange will include discussion of building buy-in from the board and navigating differences between staff and board on this issue. We’ll also explore ideas around future MPN activities and what offerings/supports will help move you along your journey.
Please join Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Green Funders Affinity Group for a legislative debrief of the 2025 Maryland General Assembly session. Josh Tulkin from the Maryland Chapter of Sierra Club, Kim Coble from Maryland League of Conservation Voters, Emily Scarr from the Maryland Public Interest Research Group (MaryPIRG), and Emily Ranson from Clean Water Action will share their perspectives on the implementation and lessons learned from recent legislation, offering a glimpse into the legislative progress and challenges expected in the future.
Join Maryland Philanthropy Network for our annual conversation with Cabinet Secretary Jacob "Jake" Day of the Maryland State Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). Members will hear an update on DHCD initiatives and priorities, reflections on what they have learned over the past year and how that informs their plans for 2026; and ways philanthropy can become involved.
Maryland Philanthropy Network joins United Philanthropy Forum signing on to a letter related to understanding how changes to the tax code in Congress impact the charitable sector and what it means for data-driven decision making to have an impact on policy reform. The ask is to include charitable organizations and donors in discussions that impact the sector as soon as possible. This letter was signed onto this as it is in alignment with the broader policy of charitable reform which seems to allow for general support.
Please join Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Aging Innovations and Health Funders Affinity Groups a conversation about the development and implementation of local programs that align with the national strategy announced at the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health. We will learn about the healthcare infrastructure Maryland is developing that includes dietary screening, diagnosis and billing codes, and staff protocols for prescribing diet interventions.
