During last year's Green Funders Legislative Debrief, the Maryland Climate Partners Coalition Steering Committee provided an update to funders on the progress of implementing the Climate Solutions Now Act. In collaboration with Chesapeake Bay Funders Network, Maryland Philanthropy Network's Green Funders Affinity Group invites you to learn more about what's next for this work as the Climate Partners track progress on state goals, educate key stakeholders, and advocate for the full enactment of all components of the law.
Please join Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Green Funders Affinity Group for a Legislative Debrief to understand the political forces shaping Maryland’s environmental policy and the legislative progress expected in the future. Speakers from the Maryland League of Conservation Voters, Sierra Club’s Maryland Chapter, and The Nature Conservancy’s Maryland/DC Chapter will provide an overview of outcomes from this year’s Maryland General Assembly, particularly around the groups top priorities of infrastructure deployment and environmental/climate justice.
Maryland has an opportunity to build a statewide, multi-racial coalition of organizations comprised of parents and providers designed to build awareness and unite around a plan to educate policymakers and other key stakeholders on Prenatal to 3 priorities for parents, families and communities. The Maryland Family Network (MFN) currently has a planning grant from the J.B. and M.K. Pritzker Foundation (Pritzker) with an opportunity to receive an implementation grant. The Prenatal-to-Five (PN-5) and Education Funders Affinity Groups are invited to learn more about the focus of the planning grant, the importance of stakeholder engagement toward achieving policies and systems goals in the state, and how MFN, Strong Schools Maryland and other organizations are working together to prepare a strong case for continued support from Pritzker.

Please join the Workforce Funders Affinity Group to hear outcomes from this year’s legislative session. Our speakers will share information about passed legislation and efforts that did not quite make it this year. They will also provide information outcomes of specific bills in the 2022 Maryland Legislative Session in the issue areas of workforce development and quality jobs, the public safety net, financial education, asset building, and consumer protections.
