Join the Arts Funders Affinity Group for a conversation with Ms. Whitfield to learn about her vision for AVAM, the current state of the museum, and other pertinent issues. Held in partnership with the Trust-Based Philanthropy Project, this is the fifth session of a 6-part webinar series on Demystifying Trust-Based Philanthropy. During this session, we will unpack these important nuances and will highlight examples of how grantmakers are relying on rigor and continuous learning to understand impact. Participants can expect to gain a clear understanding of trust-based philanthropy’s three-pronged approach to learning and evaluation, as well as concrete tools they can use to implement in their own work. Each session will provide dedicated space for small-group peer dialogue with other MPN members about ways to implement these practices into your grantmaking.

Join Maryland Philanthropy Network for a funder debrief conversation about the Historic Plan to Address Vacant Properties in Baltimore Neighborhoods. An initial briefing was held on September 23, 2024 and a follow up conversation was held on December 6, 2024. Funders will work together to determine ways they would like to be part of the Vacants/Reinvest Baltimore work in an ongoing way, the structure for their participation, and how they would like to be supported going forward.

Maryland Philanthropy Network is pleased to be a partner with the Trust-Based Philanthropy Project for this multi-part series that will explore the relationship between the two approaches, to understand why a racial equity lens is needed (the issue), what a racial equity lens is in a trust-based approach (the answer), and how to operationalize it (the implementation). This series will include comprehensive data-informed content, rich discussion and insights from sector thought leaders, as well as an opportunity to connect with a cohort of peers actively working to understand and operationalize these concepts within their grantmaking organizations.
