The Maryland Community Foundations Association (MCFA) connects and promotes community foundations as a form of philanthropy benefitting towns, cities and rural areas across our state. This group convenes in support of their shared missions and focus on helping individuals, families and businesses plan and carry out their charitable giving; and in building endowments to serve their regions' changing needs.

Michael Bigley is the Director of the Venable Foundation, one of the largest law firm foundations in the country. A key aspect of his work has been to increase public awareness of Venable’s funding opportunities and diversify the grantee docket. As we transition back to more face-to-face activities in the future, Michael looks forward to meeting new MPN colleagues and discovering how philanthropy can address systemic issues present in our communities together.

Governance
The Baltimore Children and Youth Fund (BCYF) awarded CLLCTIVLY and Maryland Nonprofits $150,000 to pilot the CONNECT program. CONNECT is a nine-month cohort of ten organizations focused on deepening relationships and collaboration among nonprofits to improve organizational sustainability, increase fundraising, and move towards a liberatory framework for serving young people in Baltimore City.
