What Funders Need to Know about ARPA

Join Maryland Philanthropy Network and our speakers for an overview of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to contextualize the ways funds are being disbursed, including the $350 billion in State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF). Drawing on ideas found in this Philanthropy News Digest article by Darius Graham of the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, we’ll discuss how a greater understanding of priorities and processes in a community can help with allocating SLFRF in ways that inform grantmaking. We will conclude with a dynamic panel discussion with our partners on how funders can support nonprofits, provide community input about public dollars, and address any potential funding gaps.

Maryland Philanthropy Network's Housing Funders Affinity Group mobilizes its members to use philanthropy’s voice, influence, and financial capital to end homelessness by creating and advancing lasting solutions that are grounded in racial and housing justice (housing affordability, tenant rights, and eviction prevention).

COVID - 19 Outbreak

Communities around the globe are currently responding to an outbreak of respiratory disease, known commonly as "COVID -19", which is caused by the virus “SARS-CoV-2”. As we do during times of disaster, Maryland Philanthropy Network will serve as a clearinghouse for resources and information about relief and recovery efforts to aid Maryland's philanthropies response. Baltimore Youth Initiative Issues Grants to 10 Organizations

Baltimore’s Promise, in part­ner­ship with the Annie E. Casey Foun­da­tion and the Har­ry and Jeanette Wein­berg Foun­da­tion, recent­ly announced a pack­age of 10 grants total­ing rough­ly $525,000 through its Youth Grant­mak­ers Ini­tia­tive. The effort, which fea­tured a group of 15 Bal­ti­more-area youth and young adults between the ages of 16 and 25 in promi­nent design and deci­sion-mak­ing roles, grant­ed funds to 10 local orga­ni­za­tions.
