In 2023, nearly 7,900 Baltimore City youth applied to YouthWorks to gain summer employment experience, and some 500 businesses, agencies and nonprofits
The child care workforce holds demanding jobs that take a toll on their physical and mental health. Yet because of low wages and high rates of uninsurance, many cannot access essential health care benefits.

Maryland Philanthropy Network is collaborating with Baltimore City and surrounding county governments to gather donations of critical supplies to support our regional workers on the frontlines. This peer group is focused on topics related to community greening, sustainability, climate change, and environmental protection. Group discussions are often cross-sectoral, examining the impact of environmental issues on community development, human health, or economic welfare. Participating members come from a wide range of grant-making backgrounds and diverse areas of expertise.
