Baltimore’s Promise, in partnership with the Annie E. Casey Foundation and the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, recently announced a package of 10 grants totaling roughly $525,000 through its Youth Grantmakers Initiative. The effort, which featured a group of 15 Baltimore-area youth and young adults between the ages of 16 and 25 in prominent design and decision-making roles, granted funds to 10 local organizations.
Maryland Philanthropy Network is pleased to host this In Our Own Voice workshop, in partnership with the Baltimore affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) to understand the experience of mental health issues from people with lived experience. NAMI Metropolitan Baltimore’s In Our Own Voice aims to change attitudes, assumptions, and stereotypes by describing the reality of living with mental illness. People with mental health conditions share their powerful personal stories in this presentation. We will be joined in this session by Kerry Graves, Executive Director of NAMI Metropolitan Baltimore.

All grantmakers are invited to participate in this four-part professional development series taught by our region's experienced practitioners, presented by Maryland Philanthropy Network. This session will cover maximizing grant impact, managing your grant portfolio, and continuing to learn. Participants will learn to connect capacity building, advocacy, grantee engagement, and diversity/inclusion to effectiveness and identify leadership roles in philanthropy beyond delivering dollars. Participants will also discuss grant monitoring, evaluation, and closure, and discover additional resources for ongoing development.
The Columbia Association (CA) and the Community Foundation of Howard County (CFHoCo) are proud to announce a new partnership to support the Howard County community through a significant grant initiative. This collaboration underscores the commitment of both organizations to promoting social welfare and addressing the needs of residents. Under the terms of the agreement, CA will provide CFHoCo with a grant of $125,000 to be distributed during the Community Foundation’s open Community Grants Program this year.
