The Environmental Protection Agency’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) is a $27 billion investment in climate and clean energy established by the Inflation Reduction Act. Please join the Green Funders Affinity Group to learn about the purpose and components of the GGRF. Representatives of local organizations that have applied for funding to benefit Maryland will describe each fund and their proposed strategy and share thoughts about barriers to community institutions accessing funding, and philanthropy’s role in supporting the infrastructure for equitable implementation of investments especially at the state and local levels.

On November 13th, Danista E. Hunte, President and CEO of Maryland Philanthropy Network, Linda Dworak, Director of the Baltimore Workforce Funders Collaborative (BWFC), and members of the BWFC attended the annoucement of the new Baltimore Workforce Hub at Carver Vocational High School in Baltimore. MPN’s BWFC will collaborate with the Baltimore Mayor’s Office of Employment Development, Baltimore City Schools, and the Baltimore DC Building Trades Council to coordinate the project.

Join Maryland Philanthropy Network for a conversation with Shamiah Kerney, Chief Recovery Officer for the Mayor’s Office of Recovery Programs. Ms. Kerney will share updates on successes to date, the anticipated transition away from American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, and the timeline for potential alignment between city government and philanthropy to continue resources for communities. The board and staff of the Goldseker Foundation announce the release of our 2017 Annual Report, which celebrates more than $100 million in grant making since 1975.
After this report went to print, the foundation suffered the unexpected loss of Simon Goldseker, our founding Vice Chairman. The Goldseker Foundation's Board, Selector Advisors, Investment Committee, and staff mourn Simon's passing and are forever grateful for his service.
