Every year, Open Society Institute – Baltimore releases an Impact Report to show the impact [their] work is having in Baltimore and the region, along with a list of [their] grants and donations, and a summary of our financial data.
This year, Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Health Funders will be conducting a series of programs exploring Social Determinants of Health topics, to better understand the roles of all funder groups in advancing health equity.

Maryland Philanthropy Network is pleased to host our annual Responsive Philanthropy in the Black Community (RPBC) Training in partnership with the Maryland Philanthropy Network of Black Foundation Executives (ABFE).
Maryland Philanthropy Network joins United Philanthropy Forum signing on to a letter related to understanding how changes to the tax code in Congress impact the charitable sector and what it means for data-driven decision making to have an impact on policy reform. The ask is to include charitable organizations and donors in discussions that impact the sector as soon as possible. This letter was signed onto this as it is in alignment with the broader policy of charitable reform which seems to allow for general support.
Please join Maryland Philanthropy Network, in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, for an exciting day of learning and networking with fellow philanthropic leaders. The day will begin with an excursion through a portion of the Underground Railroad, including a tour of the Harriet Tubman Museum. Participants will then enjoy lunch and an engaging conversation with local voices to talk about shared goals around both the racial and economic challenges facing rural Maryland and how philanthropy might respond.
Last month we held an inspirational evening showcasing individual stories of generosity and service.
Community Health Workers, Home Health Aides, Personal Care Attendants, and Nursing Assistants are among the direct care workers on the front lines of the Pandemic. COVID-19 spotlighted both an incentive towards accelerating the delivery of care directly in communities and the inequities experienced by direct care and community health workers. During this program, we will have a discussion with David Rodwin of the Public Justice Center and the Maryland Regional Direct Services Collaborative, Dr. Chidinma Ibe, of the Johns Hopkins Schools of Medicine and Public Health. We will learn from our speakers how we can support, advocate, and sustain community health workers and direct home care programs to meet the increasing need to change the delivery of healthcare from institution-based to the community.
This toolkit presents easy-to-use resources to help nonprofits and funders take action to advance talent justice. The tools can be used by both nonprofits and funders to increase their investments in talent justice at all stages of the nonprofit career lifecycle.
