Please join Maryland Philanthropy Network for an opportunity to explore the role of philanthropy across many issues at the state level, to build relationships with state government leaders and with each other, to hear updates on the 2024 legislative session, as well as an opportunity for philanthropy to dialogue with state government leaders and philanthropic peers. Invited guest include Governor Wes Moore, Senate President Bill Ferguson, and Senator Cory McCray.
Join Maryland Philanthropy Network for our 2020 Advocacy Day in Annapolis. This trip to Annapolis is an opportunity for Maryland Philanthropy Network members to learn how they can impact systems-change by observing the legislative session, learning about the legislative process firsthand, building relationships with legislators, and educating members of the legislature.
The 2023 Legislative Session in Maryland will address major issues affecting nonprofits and the people and communities we serve, including the funding of education, the impact of federal policies on Maryland’s government services, and protection of health and the environment. Join Maryland Philanthropy Network and Maryland Nonprofits for this informational program to learn what other funders will be working on, policy issues affecting nonprofits, how the legislature will function, and the state budget.
2024 promises to be a big year for housing policy in the State of Maryland with implications for the next several years. Join us for a conversation with Jacob R. (Jake) Day, Maryland Secretary of Housing & Community Development, to learn about his vision for the department under the Moore-Miller administration and key priorities. This will also be an opportunity for MPN members to share information about what they see in communities, their priorities, along with ideas for working together with state leaders to ensure safe, affordable, and supportive housing for all Marylanders.
Please join Maryland Philanthropy Network, in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, for an exciting day of learning and networking with fellow philanthropic leaders. The day will begin with an excursion through a portion of the Underground Railroad, including a tour of the Harriet Tubman Museum. Participants will then enjoy lunch and an engaging conversation with local voices to talk about shared goals around both the racial and economic challenges facing rural Maryland and how philanthropy might respond.
