Since 2022, the Annie E. Casey Foundation has partnered with intergenerational community-based organizations to explore strategies to improve youth-adult partnerships.
Individualized youth internships are keeping students at Del Norte High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on track to achieve academic and career goals.
Baltimore’s Promise, in partnership with the Annie E. Casey Foundation and the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, recently announced a package of 10 grants totaling roughly $525,000 through its Youth Grantmakers Initiative. The effort, which featured a group of 15 Baltimore-area youth and young adults between the ages of 16 and 25 in prominent design and decision-making roles, granted funds to 10 local organizations.
Join Maryland Philanthropy Network for a follow up meeting to the September 23rd Briefing on the City of Baltimore's Historic Plan to Address Vacant Properties. The meeting will begin with an update from the City including information about Reinvest Baltimore and the newly established coordinating council. This will be an interactive deep dive session where participants will further explore three key components of the initiative: People and Health, Infrastructure (neighborhood standard of care), and Financial Products.

Our time together will offer an opportunity to be in dialogue about her vision, plans and priorities and to learn how funders can be involved. Participants will have time for informal networking over lunch.
The Baltimore Workforce Funders Collaborative is a group of private and public funders established to support the alignment and pooling of resources around common workforce development goals and strategies. The BWFC is hosted by Maryland Philanthropy Network and is a signed partner of Shift Work Forward (formerly known as the National Fund for Workforce Solutions).
Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Health Funders Affinity Group is pleased to host Maryland Department of Health’s Deputy Secretary Perrie Briskin, Healthcare Financing and Medicaid Director, and Maryland Department of Human Services Assistant Secretary for Programs Larry Handerhan for a conversation on strategies the Departments are taking to mitigate effects of recent federal changes. It is estimated that 175,000 Marylanders are at risk of losing health insurance coverage, and loss of up to $27 million in Directed Payments is projected beginning in 2027 — a significant concern given how these funds support essential programs like Medicaid, AHEAD, and related transformation initiatives.
