Examining the Impact of School Climate

Examining the Impact of School Climate

Thursday, April 07, 2011, 12:00 - 1:30 PM

What constitutes a safe and supportive school environment? How can schools achieve a climate that is conducive to successful teaching and learning?  Please join us on April 7th to discuss these questions and more as we examine the impact of school climate on students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach. Dr. Michael Woolley, Associate Professor at the University of Maryland School of Social Work and national expert on the social environment factors that influence success in school, will share findings from his research on school climate. We will also be joined by a leader from a local school that strives to foster a supportive environment for students, teachers, and parents.
