A new demographic analysis of 2021-22 school year chronic absence data from the U.S. Department of Education reveals that the pandemic-induced dramatic increase in chronic absence affects students from all backgrounds and localities and is widening inequities. Maryland Philanthropy Network joins United Philanthropy Forum signing on to a letter related to understanding how changes to the tax code in Congress impact the charitable sector and what it means for data-driven decision making to have an impact on policy reform. The ask is to include charitable organizations and donors in discussions that impact the sector as soon as possible. This letter was signed onto this as it is in alignment with the broader policy of charitable reform which seems to allow for general support.
