Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Aging Innovations 2024 Summit to celebrate Older Americans Month and express appreciation for the dedication and commitment to those working in the field of aging. This year's theme is Older Adults are Powerful Assets! which will demonstrate the impactful value older adults give daily as employees, volunteers, and leaders. The keynote speaker will be Bradley Schurman, author of Super Age: Decoding the Demographic Destiny.
Maryland Philanthropy Network's Baltimore Workforce Funders Collaborative is proud to announce new funding from JPMorganChase to support career pathways in Baltimore. The $2 million philanthropic capital aims to strengthen high-quality training programs and build effective public-private partnerships, helping Baltimoreans secure well-paid jobs in the growing energy and infrastructure sectors while leveraging JPMorganChase’s growing presence in the region to convene stakeholders and drive economic growth for all.

This report explores food procurement processes in state and private higher educational institutions in Baltimore and identifies a range of strategies to more fully realize local purchasing power. The report recommends actions to support local minority business enterprises and small businesses, modifications to procurement processes, and outlines legislative opportunities to connect state agency and institutional purchasing power to businesses in targeted reinvestment areas. Many of the recommendations are applicable not just to food but other services and commodities as well.
