Members of the State Board of Education will join us to discuss their priorities for the 2016-2017 school year. Specifically, they will discuss Maryland's timeline and tentative policies for implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), which impact school accountability and ratings, school improvement, teacher evaluations and student assessment.
This report documents the experiences, successes and lessons learned during the Learning and Action Agenda Project, an effort to provide local grantmakers with information and strategies around issues of importance to the Casey Foundation —particularly around the Foundation’s Family Economic Success framework — and to motivate them to take action on those issues within their own communities and networks.

Please join Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Health Funders and Aging Affinity Groups for our first program in a new Mental Health Series. This session will focus on the correlation of the significant increase in diagnosis of dementia felt within communities of color and chronic stress caused by determinants of health. Our guest speakers will also present on new drug therapies (including the controversial Aducnumab), current research, legislative recommendations for Maryland to develop a data-driven, multi-year plan to meet the cognitive and behavioral challenges of the elder boom.
