Join John Cammack for a member-sponsored briefing to learn about innovative, neuroscience-based opportunities to prime children’s brains for learning.

A recent report from BrainFutures analyzed 42 evidence-based classroom programs that target students’ executive function skills, identifying some that yielded impressive gains in proficiency on state standardized tests and school-administered tests, increases in prosocial behaviors, and/or reductions in disruptive behaviors.

Participants will learn from an expert about the neuroscience underlying executive function skills and why students living in poverty can especially benefit from strengthening those skills; hear from a Baltimore City teacher who has successfully implemented an executive function skills curriculum; and discuss strategies for integrating proven programs into Maryland schools.

This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members and invited guests only.
