In Baltimore, we know this work requires multiple players from across sectors to come together differently. Since 2011, the Baltimore Integration Partnership (BIP), a partnership of philanthropic, nonprofit, financial, anchor and public sector organizations, has been working to advance economic inclusion. Our approach offers opportunities and lessons learned that are important for Baltimore to move forward.

We provide space for our members to connect, learn and share together on how to effectively address racial equity in their work as philanthropy-serving organizations (PSOs), and works to share our members’ learnings with the broader philanthropy field. Join Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Education Funders Affinity Group for a conversation about the Comprehensive Implementation Plan for the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. We will explore questions around the implications of the plan for Maryland schools and ways the philanthropic community can be supportive. All grantmakers are invited to participate in this four-part professional development series taught by our region's experienced practitioners, presented by Maryland Philanthropy Network. Session Three will cover understanding nonprofit financial statements with Jennifer Pedroni, Director at BDO FMA. Participants will learn how to read and understand budgets and financial statements to assess the health of an organization. They will also learn what questions to ask and understand how to interpret the numbers based on a nonprofit organization's age, mission, or funding streams.
