Each year brings new opportunities for the Baltimore Community Foundation (BCF) to grow its presence and increase its positive impact in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. In 2023, after a period of significant growth at the foundation and after the intensity of the first couple of years of the COVID-19 pandemic had passed, the foundation turned its focus inward to develop and launch Inspire, its new strategic plan. The Annie E. Casey Foun­da­tion is sad­dened to share that Patrice Cromwell, vice pres­i­dent of the Foundation’s Cen­ter for Eco­nom­ic Oppor­tu­ni­ty, passed away on Aug. 27, 2024, after a long ill­ness. Cromwell, who spent near­ly 20 years at the Foun­da­tion, led its invest­ments to improve finan­cial sta­bil­i­ty and edu­ca­tion­al and eco­nom­ic prospects for chil­dren, young peo­ple and families.
