The Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County announces that 39 grants totaling $210,000 have been presented to 24 area nonprofits serving women and children. The grants were presented during the 13th annual event held in June.

In 2010, the Horizon Foundation staff took a routine look at local health data and noticed some troubling trends. Data indicated that most deaths in our community were related to heart disease, cancer, stroke, and/or diabetes.
The Community Foundation has long been a conduit for hope and change in Frederick County.
The Community Foundation of Frederick County has launched a campaign to raise $10 million in hopes of addressing current and future needs in the county.
The affordable housing crisis isn’t new. It isn’t even an “emerging” crisis.
The Community Foundation of Frederick County completed the [2018 Frederick County Human Needs Assessment], which involved interviews with local leaders, creating focus groups, gathering local research and administering an online survey.
In recognition of this focus and the desire to align funding around housing stability, Maryland Philanthropy Network members, many of whom are part of the Basic Human Needs Affinity Group decided to transform into a new group comprised of private and public funders, currently called Funders Together to End Homelessness – Baltimore.
