Not in Service: How can Baltimore’s Public Transit Better Serve Students?

Wednesday, July 28, 2021, 10:00 - 11:30 AM

Join Maryland Philanthropy Network's Education Funders Affinity Group for a special presentation by the Fund for Educational Excellence on their newly released report, Not In Service: Why Public Transit Must Aim to Serve Students. This special presentation will include a briefing and discussion of the report analysis, findings, and recommendations.

Based on interviews with 274 City Schools students, the report examines students’ experiences with MTA public transit in Baltimore and finds an inadequate system not designed with them in mind, resulting in inconvenient routes for getting to school, unreliable service, and fears of violence and harassment. Come learn about the effect on student riders and recommended solutions.

This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members and invited guests only.
