Baltimore Cultural Institutions: A Collaborative Approach to Shared Challenges

Baltimore Cultural Institutions: A Collaborative Approach to Shared Challenges

Tuesday, January 28, 2020, 3:00 - 4:30 PM

Our cultural institutions are struggling to overcome the negative narrative that surrounds Baltimore and the very real impact it has on attendance and financial support.  Even as our institutions are striving to be increasingly intentional in their welcome and inclusion of city residents and new audiences, real and perceived safety issues are keeping regional residents away.  In these challenging times, how might a partnership between the cultural institutions, city, county and state leadership, and the philanthropic community form to develop an inclusive, cohesive marketing, promotion and investment strategy that centers the creative economy of Baltimore and builds a greater sense of shared ownership of and benefit from these important anchors?

Join Maryland Philanthropy Network, our colleagues from the Maryland State Arts Council, and regional cultural leaders for an initial discussion of the issues impacting the sustainability of Baltimore cultural institutions and the short- and long-term actions interested partners could take to begin to shift the narrative and support Baltimore and its arts institutions as an important and vital cultural hub for the state.

This convening is for invited guests and members of the Maryland Philanthropy Network.

If you are not a member of our network please reach out to  Elisabeth Hyleck to register your attendance.
