Expanding Oral Health Care in Maryland

Expanding Oral Health Care in Maryland

Tuesday, October 10, 2017, 12:00 - 1:30 PM

The Affinity Groups on Aging and Health invite you to a program on oral health care for adults in Maryland. Adults who lack good oral health care are at risk of developing chronic diseases and nutrition deficiencies. Regular dental care is out of reach financially for many adults in Maryland, including persons 65 and over, increasing the negative impacts on their quality of life.

Our presenters will be Karyn Carr Porter, Dental Hygienist, Chase Brexton Health Care and Mary C. Backley, Executive Director of the Maryland Dental Action Coalition; they will talk about:

  • The needs of adults without access to oral health care.
  • How changes in public policy can make a difference.
  • Role of philanthropy in expanding adult oral health care in Maryland.

This program is for the Maryland Philanthropy Network members and invited guests. Lunch will be served.
