Building Baltimore’s Talent Pipeline, at Scale, for the Future, and NOW

Building Baltimore’s Talent Pipeline, at Scale, for the Future, and NOW

Wednesday, January 22, 2020, 10:00 - 11:30 AM

Join us and Junior Achievement's 3DE Schools for a deeper conversation on their innovative program at the request of several members.

3DE Schools is re-engineering the culture of secondary education to scale and to align with real-world experiences to prepare students for the demands of business. The program develops six core competencies through 16 case challenges, combining real-life business scenarios with first-hand engagement with high-demand industries, business executives, and site visits.

3DE’s CEO, Jack Harris, will share how this progressive model is rapidly growing. Having launched its first high school in 2014, over the next five years the reform model will extend to 55 schools in 20 districts across seven states, including the City of Baltimore in 2020.

Major national backers include Bernie Marcus, Sara Blakely, New Schools Venture Funds, and the Walton Family Foundation, as well as corporate partners including AT&T, Arby’s/Inspire Brands, Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, The Home Depot, Jackson Healthcare, ReliaQuest, Salesforce, SunTrust, and UPS.

This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members and invited guests only.
