West Baltimore Community Impact Fund Launches

On December 5th, Kaiser Permanente joined West Baltimore community leaders and anchor institutions to celebrate the launch of the West Baltimore Community Impact Fund. The fund was seeded with $260,000 from KP, as well as dollars from Bon Secours Mercy Health and LifeBridge Health and is administered by the Baltimore Community Foundation.

The Impact Fund is innovative and equity-centered, putting the decision-making power in the hands of community members who know their needs best. Grants will be made on a quarterly basis and must be of, by, and for people in West Baltimore’s Boyd Booth, Fayette Street Outreach, and/or Franklin Square communities. At the celebration, Fund leaders announced their first 3 grant recommendations totaling $58k in the areas of senior programming, senior produce access, and urban garden infrastructure.
