Non-profits benefit from Shore Gives More

It’s the season of giving and what better way to give back than to donate to local non-profits that do great work right in our backyard. That’s the premise of the Shore Gives More. “We want everyone to realize that being a philanthropist doesn’t mean that you’re rich or wealthy. It means you have a heart to give, regardless of what that amount is,” says Erica Joseph, the President of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore.

Giving Tuesday is an initiative during the season of giving that falls right after Black Friday and Cyber Monday.“Your one dollar, two dollars, five dollars, ten dollars, it really makes a difference,” says Caroline Phillips, the Community Outreach Coordinators for the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore. “After a weekend of spending, to give back to the non-profits that are serving the community.”

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore has branded the day as the Shore Gives More. “We really focus here on Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester. And we know how generous it is. And we want to prove every year that we have the most generous community with the Shore Gives More campaign,” says Joseph.
